This fish at Sam’s Southern Eatery & Seafood it’s burnt to a crisp. I ordered the kids meal to go. $9 the fish is so burnt my son wasn’t able to eat. I had to go to another restaurant to buy food. Whoever is the cook here needs to be trained not to burn the fish… not edible. The Mac n cheese very little cheese & a whole lot of noodles. Definitely not a good idea to order a kids meal.

Good fried foods here! Fried Shrimp was large and tasty. A bit on the salty side but not overbearing. The Mac and Cheese was outstanding, as were the green beans. Disappointed in the cherry pie as the shell wasn’t very good - taste wise. The cherry filling was great though. Pie possibly was overcooked. Prices are great!

I wasn't expecting much when we stumbled across this little place. We'll were just looking for some fried mushrooms. This little Cajun place is amazing! We'll be back to try more to support this small business.

I had the oyster Po boy for lunch today and I haven't had this in years. The taste was on point. The gentleman that waited on us and took the order was fantastic. While we waited he offered a sample of their gumbo and it was fantastic. Will come back again. Soul food nostalgia

The owner of the store is extremely friendly. I ordered the catfish with the shrimp, and it was delicious. If you're ever in Springfield and want catfish shrimp oysters, anything like that this is the place to get it.

I am visiting Springfield from Denver and stumbled upon this place. The staff were extremely friendly and the food really hit the spot. I had the fried fish, shrimp, red beans & rice, Mac n cheese, fried blueberry pie and tried the gumbo. It was so delicious 10/10, highly recommend.

I enjoyed this place! I ordered the 1 fish, 5 shrimp with fries and red beans and rice. I loved the fish sauce but wasn’t a big fan of their cocktail type sauce. I also thought their fries could use some type of Cajun style seasoning. The red beans and rice were the best I’ve ever had! To finish off we tried the peach hand pie which was fantastic. I would come back again!

What a wonderful hole in the wall eatery! The golden fried catfish is exactly that, golden, crunchy, and delicious. We ordered grilled as well. It was moist and flavourful especially with grilled peppers and onions on top. Jumbo shrimp was fried perfectly and plump. Their coleslaw is fresh and creamy. Everything was incredible so we ordered gumbo to go and I didn't regret it!!!
